Training

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I have got several pots in the fire right now. There is a Preparation Fair go on in Cle Elum, WA on
June 21, 2014 from 10 am - 3 pm. There will be 20 plus booths, entertainment, mini classes, and food, there is something for everyone.  For more information you can go to www.providenthomecompanion.com/preparedness-fair/

Hoping to get some training for Medical Emergencies in our area (should be fun since I don't like blood).
I am trying to get as much training under my belt as possible, that way whatever comes our way, I can help in any capacity needed.  I strongly suggest that at least one person (all if possible) in your family or group that you camp, hike, fish, hunt, or whatever outdoor (or indoor) activities you do with, should be CPR & First Aid Certified.

If you want more training....that will not just help your family but your community, check with your local Fire Department and look into their CERT programs and Neighborhood Preparedness programs. There are many ways we can all help our communities, all you have to do is ask your churches if they are apart of your communities Emergency Plan, you can call your local Emergency Management Person, etc. Some communities do drills.  I have not been apart of one but I hear it can be very emotional and eye opening.
Summer is a good time to look into these programs, some are free, some have fees, but in the end you will walk away with great knowledge, and supplies to get you started.

One last thing for today,
With summer almost here, the kids being out of school, people will be traveling/vacationing, etc.  Please review my posting from January 10, 2012.  That post talks about thing you should have in your car during a winter and winter traveling, but summer is not that different.  You will want more water with you, you will still need cloths for ALL weather (it can still get cold at night depending on where you are) and there are lots more ideas. Please, Please, Please if you are traveling out of state, into the mountains, or anywhere you may not have cell service TELL SOMEONE OR TWO WHERE YOU ARE GOING and what your route will be.  What am I shouting...because if someone gets lost, it will be easier to send help if someone else knows where you were going and how you were getting there!

I will have more tips and ideas in the coming weeks.

Until Next Time....
